::: How did you first get into surfing?:
- I went on holiday in France 4 years ago, and tried it out on one of those really big boards, almost boats… (you know, like Falko and Douwe have… :p) and I liked it!! Then got the opportunity to surf when I came to England… and here I am, still surfing!
::: What drives and motivates you to surf?
- Trying to get better than Alex and Falko! And also I love being in the ocean when the sun comes up and seeing some nice swell lines rolling in from far, far away. Just waiting there for the perfect wave with my friends… catch it, and hope the next one will be even better!
::: Any particular surfexperiences (good or bad) you want to share?
- Sunny day in Bournemouth, almost no-one in the water, and absolutely perfect 3ft waves rolling in, breaking to the sides! Small, but perfect surf. Seeing Douwe, Falko or one of the Stians nosediving also always makes my day! ;p
- And for a bad one: during very big surf, was all alone… exhausted from paddling to the back, and then got pushed under by wave that collapsed right on top of me. I was already really breathless from the paddle, and was then pushed underwater and couldn’t get up! Had the feeling that those were my last seconds! But finally got up, caught my breath, and had to prepare for the next big wave that was about to collapse on me! After that I paddled back to the beach…
