::: How did you first get into surfing?:
- Started windsurfing at 9 y.o.a. in Austria. Been windsurfing since then every holiday. Started surfing in Bournemouth summer 06. Addicted for life...
::: What drives and motivates you to surf?
- That feeling of absolute freedom, adrenaline and perfection when you glide down the face of the wave on a sunny day, try to survive in an overhead storm or just enjoy the waves alone or with friends while the sun rises.
::: Any particular surfexperiences (good or bad) you want to share?
- (1.) When a windsurfer 20 meters away from me got his hand chopped off by another guy driving over him with a sharp fin and the heli got him out (while the doc was searching for the hand)!! (2.) First day of (wave)surfing for me (2minutes in the water) and a guy lost control of his longboard - it lands on the back of my head, nearly knocks me out and everybody looks amazed at the back of my head (saying: "oooh shit!") asking if I am alright - hospital, glued, 2 weeks rest! Don't let anything put you off! :)
:: What would you blast on the ghettoblaster to get PUMPED and ready to rip before surfing?
- Metallica, Tool, Mastodon, Machine Head, Slipknot, QOTSA... Jack Johnson, Donovan Frankenreiter, Seeed... depends on the day...
