- Borestranda, Stavanger, Norway - Alex (Rental BIC 8'0") & Madelen (Rental BIC 8'0") WAVES: 1-2ft - AIR TEMP: 13'c - SEA TEMP: 6'c - DESCRIPTION: Surfing Norway is a pleasurable experience, although a freezingly cold one! The water is mint-fresh and the air is so clean it nearly hurts smog polluted lungs. Good, fun waves rolled in making it a great warm-up for the upcoming surf next day aswell. Lovely surf-company aswell this day;) 7/10
Friday
27.03.09
- Boscombe Pier - Alex (Dave Berntsen 7'6) & Falko (Bic 6'8") WAVES: 1-3ft - AIR TEMP: 7'c - SEA TEMP: 9'c - DESCRIPTION: A day which we expected nothing from.. but we were positively surprised. It started out as messy 1ft'ers which didn't break properly, and only provided some short rides at the best. However, as time progressed the waves grew, and provided some great long rides to the beach. The drift which kept dragging us towards the pier was a thorn in the side though. Some good rides, and a great way to start the weekend. 5/10

Wednesday
04.03.09
- Boscombe Pier - Alex (Dave Berntsen 7'6), Falko (Bic 6'8"), Douwe (South Point 8'0") & Mathieu (Al Merrick 6'1") WAVES: 2-3ft - AIR TEMP: 10'c - SEA TEMP: 8'c - DESCRIPTION: A sunny day of excellent surf. We arrived at the pier with silent hopes of the good ol' blue stuff, and as we walked towards the pier we saw a constant swell rolling in. The Sorted Webcam was down, which resulted in uncrowded waves and eternal sunshine (hey! don't take my word for it.. check out the photos) Thanks to Douwe for taking initiative! 7/10
Saturday
21.02.09
- Southbourne - Alex (Cortez 8'0), Falko (Bic 8'2"), Line (Bic 8'0"), Martine (Bic 7'3") & Sophie (Cortez 8'0") WAVES: 1-2ft - AIR TEMP: 10'c - SEA TEMP: 8'c - DESCRIPTION: Line, Martine and Sophie called us up for some surf instruction on this beautiful, sunny saturday. As the choice stood between reading neuroanatomy and surfing, the choice was pretty easy. We stayed home all day, reading up on the ipsilateral globus pallidus & substantia nigra. No, we actually went surfing. Got some surprisingly big wave sets which rolled in at times. And sent the students pummelig a couple of times, right Line? ;) Not alot of overall swell and wavemonsters, but the sun was turned on and it was a maxely chilled-out, good fun session. 7/10
25.01.09 - Southbourne - Alex (Wayne Parkes 6,8"), Hans Christian (Bic 7'8") & Stian Dverg (Cortez 8'0") WAVES: 3-5ft - AIR TEMP: 9'c - SEA TEMP: 9'c - DESCRIPTION: Walking along the cliffs, we threw a glance towards Boscombe Pier and saw that it was packed with surfers. Southbourne was pumping solid, consistent sets of waves, and they looked really powerful (which they also turned out to be), but no surfers here. Could it really be as good as it looked? Hell yeah!! First time I've ever surfed Southbourne, and what a virgin-run it was! Incredibly powerful waves provided some fantastic tubelike rides, (which usually ended up with getting chased down by the wave itself, for then to receive a proper thrashing), but also some BREATHTAKING wipeouts (right, Stian?) I hereby declare my love for Southbourne. Fantastic, fun session. 9/10

21.01.09 - Boscombe Pier - Alex (Wayne Parkes 6,8") & Falko (Bic 6'7") WAVES: 4ft messy - AIR TEMP: 6'c - SEA TEMP: 9'c - DESCRIPTION: Same excellent conditions as yesterday (20.01.08) only a little bit bigger, and slightly messier due to more wind. The conditions provided some brilliant, powerful rides. Only 3 surfers in the water today, which ensured everybody had their fair share of waves. Thanks to motivational Teddy for saying "WETSUIT UP!", it was absolutely worth it! Awesomeness defined. 8/10

20.01.09 - Boscombe Pier - Alex (Wayne Parkes 6,8") & Mathieu (Al Merrick 6'2") WAVES: 2-4ft clean - AIR TEMP: 4'c - SEA TEMP: 10'c - DESCRIPTION: Mathieu and me headed down to the pier this afternoon with zero expectations after watching the webcam for a couple of minutes. However, crispy clean sets of 2-4ft waves of awesomeness were rolling in! Nice... Had my first tubelike wave today, which was simply aaaaamazing! (It ended with the wave crashing over me at the end though) Looks like we'll be seeing the same conditions tomorrow (hopefully!) 8/10

18.01.09 - Boscombe Pier - Alex (Wayne Parkes 6,8") & Falko (Bic 6'8") - 2-3ft waves - Air temperature: 6'c - Sea temperature: 10'c - Beautiful, sunny sunday session. Good sized waves with lots of power ensured some pretty sweet rides all the way to the bank. Boscombe paradise pier, gotta love it on days like these! So fresh! 7/10

15.01.09 - Boscombe Pier - Alex (Dave Berntsen Custom 7,6"), Falko (Bic 8'2") & Mathieu (6'2" Al Merrick) - 2-3ft messy waves - Air temperature: 7'c - Sea temperature: 8'c - A messy, but great afternoon session today. Quite hard to paddle out as the waves kept rolling in constantly, crashing against the beach. Amazing power in the waves out at the back, which provided some absolutely fantastic rides. Pretty refreshing out there today! 8/10

13.01.09 - Boscombe Pier - Alex (Dave Berntsen Custom 7,6"), Falko (Bic 6'7") & Mathieu (6'2" Al Merrick) - 1-2ft clean waves - Air temperature: 8'c - Sea temperature: 9'c - Had some awesome rides today, both left to rights, and right to lefts. A great comeback session after the xmas holidays, and an excellent way to start the surfing year of 2009. May Poseidon smile upon us all this year. Felt great to be riding that blue powder again. Surf log five!! 8/10

06.12.08 - Boscombe Pier - Alex (Wayne Parkes 6,8"), Falko (Bic 6'7"), Pål (Shortboard 6'8") & Mathieu (6'2" Al Merrick) - 1ft clean waves - Air temperature: 5'c - Sea temperature: 12'c - Beautiful sunrise session. Arrived at the pier at the cold crack of dawn (8am), after having seen some pretty "hey good-looking, what you got cooking" wave-sets rolling in on the sorted webcam. Really clean waves, and some good rides, but as the day progressed, the waves got less and less consistent. All in all, a really fresh start to the day, and a lovely sunrise session. 6/10

04.12.08 - Boscombe Pier - Alex (Wayne Parkes 6,8"), Falko (Bic 6'7") & Pål (Shortboard 6'8") - 2-3ft waves - Air temperature: 7'c - Sea temperature: 12'c - Beautiful, sunny morning session. Huge waves rolled in, and we chose to surf the left side of the pier. Waves were a bit imperfect at times, meaning that they broke and then lost all power, leaving you with a big drop/short ride. However, once you figured out the breaking pattern you were all set and provided with some good, really powerful rides. Nice and crispy december session! 6/10

23.11.08 - Boscombe Pier - Alex (Dave Berntsen 7,6"), Falko (Bic 8'2") & Mathieu (6'2" Al Merrick) - 2ft waves - Air temperature: 7'c - Sea temperature: 12'c - As we arrived the sets were very nice and clean, however, the water was packed with surfers. And who can blame them? Sun was out, and it was a good day to surf off the hangover from the weekend's shenanigans. Hoodie, boots and gloves was a must on this day, as it was absolutely freezing. Some good rides, but as the day progressed, the low tide kicked in and took most of the break away. All in all, a good, sunny sunday afternoon session. 6/10

11.11.08 - Boscombe Pier - Alex (Wayne Parkes 6,8") & Pål (Shortboard 6'8") - 2ft and kind of messy, but good fun session. Had a look earlier on the webcam (around 12ish), and at that time the most beautiful 3ft clean sets were rolling in. It looked amazing! Unfortunately, when we got down there 2pm, a sidewind has kicked in making everybody drift towards the pier. Good waves to be had, but you had to paddle out far right, then get it position, take the wave to the beach - repeat. Some great rides, but as mentioned, quite hard work as you constantly had to paddle to keep in place. However, surf + sun in the middle of november? Now, that's niiiice! 7/10

24.10.08 - Boscombe Pier - Alex (Dave Berntsen 7,6"), Falko (Bic 8'2"), Tor Erik (Bic 8'2"), Silje & Andreas - 1-2ft and clean. Pretty crowded session, but no real problems, since most of the crowd were beginners, and kept (mostly) out of the way. In the beginning of the set the waves rolled in quite regularly, providing some good right to lefts, and left to rights. Some freak waves also made some cameo appearences to our delight, providing some uncontested rides all the way to the pier. Beautiful sunset, beautiful session.. 7/10

21.10.08 - Boscombe Pier - Alex (Dave Berntsen 7,6") & Pål (Shortboard 6'8") - 1ft and cleanish sets. When we first arrived the surf line-up looked like a battlefield, beginners dipping around like landmines, while the more experienced surfers cruised past them. The first impression was that this was gonna be a quite mediocre surf session, but as time passed the quality increased and the crowd number sank drastically. Unfortunately, Paul got hit by a board right in the hand and had to leave, as all the blood was attractic lots of sharks. Had some FALKO moment when I just paddled long outside the line-up, and ¤abra-kadabra!¤ a magical wave appeared, which only I was in the position to take. Put out some pictures in the gallery so you can check how the waves were. Good session with some nice, long rides. 6/10
05.10.08 - Boscombe Pier - Mathieu (Al Merrick 6'1"), Falko (BIC 6'7"), Alex (Wayne Parkes 6,8") & Tom (Baron 7'0") - Huge groundswell this hungover afternoon. Large, beautiful, clean sets of 4ft waves kept rolling in, creating brilliant surf conditions. Some of the best surfing conditions I've ever seen in Bournemouth, and the rides you got were simply incredible. Unfortunately, as expected, the water was heavilly crowded (approx 40 surfers at most!) But all in all, a very refreshing surf session. 9/10

04.10.08 - Boscombe Pier - Alex (Wayne Parkes 6,8") + approx 15-20 surfers in the water - Incredibly rainy and windy afternoon surf, 14pm-17pm. Huge swell generated by the strong wind. Sets of large waves (4ft) came rolling in constantly. Hard work and lots of paddling needed to get out back, and also to catch the waves, but the 3-4 great rides I had made the whole session worthwhile. A minus was that I managed to chip of a piece of the nose on the board after riding straight over a body boarder (no injuries, except my board). Good fun, but really tiresome session, as I had to paddle constantly due to drifting. 7/10

02.10.08 - Boscombe Pier - Mathieu (Al Merrick 6'1"), Falko (BIC 6'7"), Alex (Wayne Parkes 6,8") & Tor Erik (BIC 8'4") - Entertaining, really clean small/medium waves in the beginning of the session. Later in the evening the waves got larger, but a bit less reliable. Fun late afternoon/evening session. 5/10
01.10.08 - Boscombe Pier - Mathieu (Al Merrick 6'1"), Falko (BIC 6'8"), Alex (Wayne Parkes 6,8") & Tor Erik (BIC 8'4") - 2ft waves. Beautiful, sunny afternoon. In the beginning there were some good, fun waves to be had, but as time passed, the wind increased, and made the conditions quite messy and less reliable, but all in all a good session. 5/10

30.09.08 - Boscombe Pier - Mathieu (Al Merrick 6'1"), Falko (Bic 8'0"), Alex (Wayne Parkes 6,8"), Christian R, Joakim, Tor Erik (BIC 8'4"), Tom (Baron 7'0") & Douwe (Longboard) - Huge swell (10ft). Crowded session. Huge, neck/boardbreaking waves (approx 4-5ft) rolled in, and the wind made the conditions a little bit messy as time passed. Quite difficult to catch, but the ones which you caught were fantastic rides! Adrenaline in wave form. Good, fun session. 7/10

- Boscombe Pier - Mathieu (Al Merrick 6'1"), Falko (BIC 8'0") & Alex (Wayne Parkes 6,8") - Good, clean medium-sized surf. Crowded session, but no real interference when catching a wave. As the day turned to night, with the fading light, some massive wave-sets started rolling in. Everybody caught some pretty sweet sets. Great fun! 8/10

22.09.08
- Bournemouth Pier - Andreas, Silje, Mathieu (Baron 7'0"), HC (BIC 7'8") & Alex (Dave Berntsen minimal 7,6") - 7:30am to 9:45am: Fun, small, very clean surf. Good session, but pretty small; some freak waves rolled in though. 5/10
21.09.08
- Boscombe Pier - Stian G (BIC 7'8"), Mathieu (Baron 7'0") & Alex (Dave Berntsen minimal 7,6") - Good, clean surf. Pretty crowded this sunday afternoon, but not as crowded as expected, due to sorted's webcam being out of order. 5/10
