SURFSCHOOL.NO
Surfschool was started in 1997, and has since then established itself as one of Norways largest and most popular surfscools. The instructors are really professional and they take great pride and joy in seeing their young surfapprentices succeed in the water element. They are incredibly pricefriendly (see prices further down in the article). This along with great instructors and a keen eye for quality and effectiveness has ensured them a superb reputation in the national surf scene.
LOCATION
To get things clear. The spot we are talking about is located in western Norway, next to the beautiful cities Stavanger and Sandnes, mostly known for their oil and bicycles.. Surfschool can be found at Bore Strandcamping, a 25-minute drive from downtown Stavanger. Alternatively, a 10-mintue drive from Kleppe, the nearest populated town.
SURF LESSONS / COURSES
Every saturday at 11am, grouplessons are arranged. These are 290NOK or 28£ | 48$ | 33EUR (per 03.08.2009 - Nordea) This price includes approximately 2 hours of instruction and all the necessary equipment (surfboard, wetsuit, gloves, boots and hood). RENTING EQUIPMENT
If you feel you do not need a lesson and just want to splash around by yourself, you may rent the necessary surfequipment. The rental prices are as follows (per 03.08.2009):
- FULL METAL JACKET EQUIPMENT PACKAGE (surfboard plus wetsuit, gloves etc.): 225NOK for the
 1st day, then if you rent for several days it is 125NOK/day after the first rental day.
- SURFBOARD ONLY: 125NOK for the 1st day, then 60NOK/day.
- WETSUIT ONLY: 125NOK for the 1st day, then 60NOK/day.
This is one of Surfschool's greatest strengths, their fair prices and fantastic customer service.
SURF SHOP | @ Borestranda Camping
Surfschool also has a well-supplied shop, which carries surfboards, wetsuits, boardshorts, dvds and much more. They collaborate tightly with the quality brand GUL, and therefore has an extensive selection of GUL merchandise.
